The PD-1/PD-L1 pathway that affords tumor immune evasion is an adaptive resistance mechanism in which PD-L1 expression is induced in the tumor microenvironment by IFNγ producing T cells . Tumor free mice were re-challenged with CT26-WT cells not expressing HER-2 , 154 days after the original challenge .
