Poxvirus-based active immunotherapies induce infiltration of antigen-specific T cells to the tumor, which produce large amounts of IFNγ after encountering the cognate tumor-antigen . We investigated whether poxvirus-based active immunotherapies would increase PD-L1 expression in the tumor microenvironments of transplantable solid tumor or experimental lung metastasis mouse models. Both the CT26-HER-2 and MC38-MUC1 murine tumor cell lines up-regulate PD-L1 in response to IFNγ in a dose-dependent manner .
